Social Media Orkney: Sandy Sanday Podcasts

I’m heading to the beautiful island of Sanday to work with local school children and business leaders. The topic will be podcasting: workshops to discuss and demonstrate how we can use this simple means of distributing audio programmes to give a flavour of the island to a wide audience. It’s going to be exciting – I’m particularly looking forward to the range of ideas from young people on the Island on how audio can be used creatively.

Sanday is in the Orkney Islands – North of Kirkwall – with sandy bays, wild flowers to make any botanist tremble with anticipation and birds like golden plovers and turnstones. Sadly it’s going to be a flying visit – literally with a 6 minute flight from the main island. I’ll be compiling my own podcast of the trip which we will share with you here.

If you’re interested in discussing podcasting for schools or podcasting for business, or perhaps taking part in a workshop, do contact us as we’re measuring interest around running events on the mainland in the near future.
