The People Speak: Social Media Backlash against Nicola Fisher

Nicola Fisher has made headlines across the UK, having been shown in a video being slapped and hit by a police officer at the G20 riots. The video also showed Fisher spitting at and shouting abuse at police.

Today she has been on Sky and BBC News to tell her side of the story and, in a surprise turn of events, is now represented by PR guru, Max Clifford.

Social media, as always, is showing the pulse of the nation and suggests that Clifford will have his work cut out: almost none of the posters are on her side:

ojwmather: Nicola Fisher – waging war against all that’s wrong with the world, and yet she aligns herself with Max Clifford. Supreme irony anyone?

mattobee: please replace all news coverage of Nicola ‘I got a slap’ Fisher with PC Gary Toms who died confronting robbers last week.

steve_gray_: Nicola Fisher: “If he wanted me to move, he could have asked me politely”. Slightly hypocritical, non?

amesHoste: I do not like Nicola Fisher. “It was like being whipped by the taliban” what does that mean?

For breaking news and immediate reaction, Twitter remains the leader, with YouTube a very close second.

This waste of space has the cheek to compare her fairly justified coshing to the persecutions of dissenters and stonings of women perpetrated by the Taliban? Let’s send her to Afghanistan for a taste of reality then…
