Social Media UK

Over the past few weeks we’ve been inundated with emails and telephone calls from people that like help with setting up a Social Media Strategy for their business. Web 2.0 and Social Media is certainly a hot topic at the moment and over the past few days I’ve seen Twitter, Facebook, YouTube being mentioned on national TV and radio.

Forward thinking businesses in the USA have already adopted Social Media and are reaping the awards and in the next blog posting we will give some examples from companies that have embraced Web 2.0.

In the meantime please find below some great quotes on Social Media that I picked up today:

75 percent of Fortune 1000 companies are eager to get involved in social networking initiatives for marketing or customer relations purposes, but 50 percent fail…

Gartner Group

They fail because of lack of understanding on how to use Social Media effectively.

  1. The social media quotes here are useful. Thank you.

I coined the phrase “social media-tor” for a new service I offer, described at my Web site:
“I will give your firm a presence in the social media. Describe your services and competitive edge to me, and I’ll represent you on Twitter and Facebook, will help your LinkedIn members make the most of that networking site, and will write a blog for your firm (from your firm’s online address).”

One might say, then, than when you most a notice that “We’re looking for a Bebo and MySpace expert to connect with teenagers,” you seek social media-tors.
