Hi Steve, just noticed your reply there.

Not heard before that Management Reviews are refused for not being written "professionally" which I don't really understand. I will be speaking to a Tripadvisor representative soon and will raise this issue. Thanks for making me aware of this.

It says that TripAdvisor refuse to publish 'Management Reviews' as they most often cite 'was not professionally written'. The Tourism Industry wants to engage but TA does not let us.

Hi David,

Agree, I find it amazing how some tourism businesses deal (or even worse, don't deal) with TripAdvisor. As an ex-hotelier myself I've helped quite a few businesses over the years understanding the value of engaging with Tripadvisor instead of ignoring it. In my latest blog post I refer to a TripAdvisor report that shows only 4% of the negative reviews get a reply. What does that say about the Tourism industry?

I am collecting views about TripAdvisor via LinkedIn as I know the benefit to consumers and Online Tour Operators but as yet the Hotelier audience seems very light on comment; no-one openly hostile but very very few pro. Odd really, as there is so much free potential to differentiate and improve the product.
Just see how few actually answer the comments. Big companies do have the usage but the vast majority of Hotels are owner operated and one might think have more interest - but it seems the converse is true.
