Twitter in the Classroom?

Classroom groupBelow I will list various examples of Twitter being used in Classrooms/Lecture Theaters around the world.

TwitterforTeachers.com is a great website for Teachers who want to Tweet in their classes. With lots ideas for Elementary Schools, Secondary Schools, Universities and Colleges as well as Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) on how to incorporate Twitter into lessons.

The EmergingEdTech Blog have a good post on 6 Examples of Using Twitter in the Classroom.

Also, the Telegraph and the Guardian have articles on the New Primary School Curriculum in English Schools which is incorporating Twitter and Blogging.

Additionally, here are two good videos about Twitter Experiments in a University and a Secondary School.

For Academics, TwitterforAcademia has some unique ideas.

To see some interesting discussions on the subject you should read the comments and replies on David Warlick’s post on Twitter in the Classroom and also from Apace of Change’s EduBlog post on Promoting Twitteracy in the Classroom. They are both from 2007 but still very relevant today but some of the comments are very interesting.
